SS deluded many people with the delusion and the lies which do not have a scientific basis like a cult believer’s thoughtless remark.  The whale taken by research whaling is a Minke whale which continued increasing in number.
As for U.S.A. to which you belong, the U.S. Inuit takes the Bowhead whale of endangered species. The whales should be resources and self-sustaining use should be possible for them. Therefore, research whaling is required.

    Spraying then with water?
Why not, ram them? Attach a very strong yet sharp edge to the bow of the ur ships just below the water line and there you go

Also, only one water jet? If u really want to stop illegal whaling then u should use something more aggressive. The Japanese are people known to do what they have to to get what they want

So spraying them with water wont get u far

U either sink ships, or u, sink their ships

A load of misinformation here. The Sea Shepherd ships can keep up with the factory ship. The Bob Barker and Steve Irwin can make pace with it. This is why they couldn’t throw off The Bob Barker for like 2 months. Also they are quick enough to get out of the way but the footage shown here was of the Bob getting between two vessels to try and stop refuelling. And there is no point in chasing a harpoon vessel around. The Factory ship is the main goal and if you find the factory ship its game over for killing Whales.

I support this great effort but can’t you come up with a better method like sending some disturbing sonar waves to chase whales/dolphins away so they can get out the area quickly.

Where is their flame Throwers, grenades and guns??? you think spraying water is gonna stop them? we need to kill and SINK their ships…. Sea Sheppard has failed.

When are people going to learn? The Japanese will do whatever they are allowed and more. They are a great nation but when they want something they will take it. So you need to exert a message of power to shock them into stopping. Although a great country with incredible history, it is a nation that is incredibly biased and stuck on traditions. Not to mention racist and intolerant.

liberal nutjobs “wars” on cultures near and far that they disapprove of. leave the japanese alone they dont bother anybody and have been far more cooperative with the western architects of their society, than say the chinese. go after chinese if you really think you have balls and a legitimate problem to fix. btw those big whales are about as useful now as a brontosaurus. these mofos just gettin paid to play and manipulate armies of nutjob animal lovers.

Technically it’s international waters so if they did sink the ships it happened in no jurisdiction.

buy a submarine from russia and …

I wish they would sink all your vessels, you are not accomplishing anything except putting fishermen and women in danger. I don’t agree with fighting with groups who are fishing according to their national heritage. It would interesting to know who is funding your organization, the answer would probably be very interesting.

Wrong moron (aka FancySaggy80) it IS legal for many indigenous peoples and for certain countries. Japan, Norway & Iceland all have catch quotas.

Whaling is illegal and in 2015 the IWC even told the Japanese that whaling for research was now banned, specially if it was lethal, they are whaling in a sanctuary where the animals should be left alone.. they get funding from donations! from other people who believe that stopping whaling is important.. like ME! I support the sea shepherd I would love for my daughter to see whales and my grand kids to see whales before they are all killed and driven to extinction due to some stupid so called “research!” that requires killing them.. NO other animal is killed in the name of Research only whales so that the Japanese and other whale killing countries can put them on their plate. Its disgusting and belongs in the 1800’s. There is no place for whaling in the 21st century!

You’re totally right! If a group of cannibals want to continue their ancient practice, we should let them continue out of respect for their national heritage!!!

i agree that they do put them in danger, and i would not wish the fisherman and fisher-women in danger, but i do think ocean wildlife should be protected. if they could work it out verbally that would be best in my opinion. all i want is the best for the ocean life while still keeping the humans safe. and they can still do a bit of whaling possibly, just on a smaller scale.

I really like the Bridge design. Although it is a bit high up as compared to the rest of the boat, so it will rock quite a bit, it has almost unencumbered field of view. You can turn around and see what is behind you vs relying on people telling you and you hoping you get it right.

Despite Japan taking its quota of 333 minke whales, Sea Shepherd captain Paul Watson said the operation had been a success.
    Errrrm????? Really??,

    • Jacob Kleinsasser
      May 30, 2018 @ 1:00 pm

Bigwavemaster1 I just double checked and you are right. They decreased their quota from the 1,000 I quoted earlier.

    • Bigwavemaster1
      May 30, 2018 @ 1:00 pm

Their objective is to hunt 3,000 Antarctic minke whales over 10 years, starting with 330 whales during the 2015–16 season.
Their quota is nothing to do with Sea Shepherd.

  21. CrismaFire
    May 30, 2018 @ 1:00 pm

I think being responsible with nature is important but this is ineffective way to handle it. Dangerous and stupid. They will not stop hunting whales as long as huge profits can be made. Satify the demand and the value will go down.

Ocean Warrior joins the glorious fleet of Sea Shepherd! Sea Shepherd protect Whales and Marine Life, preserve The Biodiversity of the Oceans and the Future of the Planet, the Future of he New generations! Sea Shepherd do it for over 40 Years. If Sea Shepherd was not there to do that work, things would be far worse for the oceans and for the Biodiversity than today! For me, Paul Watson deserves Nobel Peace Prize more than anyone else on this Planet!! he and SSCS saved millions lives of Marine Mammals!
